The Society for Pidgin and Creole Languages held its summer meeting at the University of Groningen June 26-28, 2023.
I gave a talk on causative constructions in Chabacano, a theme I had initially visited at the SPCL 2011 summer meeting in Accra, Ghana. After a long pandemic break in in-person conferences, this was the first summer meeting that I attended. I also assumed my task as the new SPCL President for the coming two years. It was great to see old friends and colleagues from around the world!
